Frequently asked questions

The things customers ask us most. If your question isn't here, call us at (701) 772-7211.

Do I need an appointment for a detail?

Yes. All details are done by appointment so we can set aside the time your vehicle needs. Drop-off and pick-up times are flexible, so we'll work around your schedule.

How long does a detail take?

The majority of details are completed the same day you drop off. Larger vehicles and packages that include a full exterior buff take longer. When you book, we'll tell you what to expect for your specific vehicle and package.

Do you offer rides while my vehicle is being detailed?

Yes. We offer complimentary courtesy rides to anywhere within the Grand Forks and East Grand Forks city limits.

How much does detailing cost?

Detail packages start at $209 and are priced by vehicle size: car, 2-row SUV, 3-row SUV, and truck. For SUVs the price depends on whether there's a third row, because that means more seats and carpet, so it costs more. Our most complete package, the Showroom Shine Detail, runs $359 to $459 depending on size. Individual services like ozone odor removal ($40) and headlight restoration ($35 to $69) can be booked separately.

Do you detail boats, RVs, or UTVs?

Give us a call and tell us what you have. Anything outside our regular car, SUV, and truck lineup depends on the vehicle and what you need done, so we'd rather talk it through than guess. Some jobs we can take on, some we can't, and we'll tell you straight either way. If it's something we can help with, we'll work out a price based on the size of the job.

How do I know if my SUV is priced as a 2-row or a 3-row?

Count the rows of seats. If there's a third row, even a small one, and even if it's folded down, it prices as a 3-row SUV. That catches some vehicles people think of as midsize, like a Traverse or an Acadia. A third row means more seats, more carpet, and more time, which is why it costs more. If you're not sure, just call us and tell us the year, make, and model.

What's the difference between Total Detail and Showroom Shine Detail?

Both include a full interior detail and our Showroom Shine exterior finish. The Showroom Shine Detail adds paint surface decontamination, which removes bugs, tar, and tree sap, plus a full exterior buff. If your paint has visible contamination or has lost its gloss, choose the Showroom Shine Detail.

Do I need to remove my personal items first?

Yes, please clear personal items out of the vehicle before your appointment. It lets our technicians clean every surface properly, and it keeps your belongings secure.

Can you detail a vehicle with a bike rack or tools in it?

Bring it in and we'll take a look. Vehicles with bike racks, exposed tools, or anything else that keeps them from safely going through our automatic car wash may have to be hand washed instead, which carries an additional fee. We'll review that with you at drop-off before any work starts.

Can you remove pet or smoke odor?

Yes. Our ozone odor removal treatment is $40 and neutralizes odors at the source rather than covering them up. It works on smoke, pet, food, and mildew odors. For strong odors we usually recommend pairing it with an interior detail so the source material is removed too.

About Full Interior Detail

Can you remove window tint?

Not at this time. We're happy to help with your other detailing needs, but we're unable to remove window tint at this time.

What if my vehicle is really dirty?

Bring it in. Our prices cover normal wear and everyday dirt, and North Dakota winters are hard on a vehicle, so road salt and winter grime are what we expect to see. Some vehicles do need more than a standard detail, heavy pet hair, deep staining, sand or mud throughout, or built-up smoke residue can all take significant extra labor. If yours is one of them, we'll look it over, talk it through with you, and confirm the price before we start. You won't get a surprise on the invoice.

What if there's a biohazard in the vehicle?

Vehicles with any type of human or animal biohazard are subject to an additional charge. Let us know when you book so we can plan the right process and give you an accurate price.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes. Military guests receive 15% off, seniors receive 10% off, and Rydell Car Wash FastPass guests receive 10% off detail services. Discounts cannot be combined, and one discount may be used per visit. If you qualify for more than one, we'll apply the discount that saves you the most. Mention it when you book, or pick it on the booking form.

Can I get an oil change at the same time?

Yes. We can combine an oil change with your detail so you only make one trip.

Do you sell gift cards?

We do. Gift cards are available for any of our detail services. Pick the service you'd like to give, and we'll take care of the rest.

Where do I park when I drop off?

Park in front of the building, just to the left of the car wash exit.

What is headlight restoration?

Over time, headlight lenses oxidize and yellow, which measurably cuts down how much light reaches the road at night. We buff off that oxidation and apply a clear protective coating to restore clarity and slow it from coming back. It's $35 for a single headlight or $69 for both.
